The greatest value of a picture is when it forces us to notice what we never expected to see.

The Team

James Thompson, CEO & CO-FOUNDER

James Thompson focuses on leadership and direction of Bishop Visual, as well as design and construction of software.

James graduated from Hampshire College, studying digital media and film. For his capstone project, he wrote, directed, and led the CG team for a Live Action/CG sci-fi short film. At Hampshire he was able to fuse his digital media studies with his extracurricular interests in psychology and natural sciences, allowing him the opportunity to flex his interdisciplinary talents and practice working with teams across disciplines. There, he connected with Aidan Piper and conceived of what would become Bishop Visual’s first hologram presentation.

Griffin van Horne, CTO & CO-FOUNDER

Griffin van Horne focuses on the development and optimization of Bishop's hardware, using additive manufacturing to rapidly prototype and continuously improve our offerings. Griffin’s undergraduate research used the zebrafish model to develop a high-throughput behavioral test to screen the efficacy of substances with potential anxiety-reducing properties. Griffin graduated from Bard College in 2016 with a B.A. in Biology.

Aidan Piper, CSO & CO-FOUNDER

Aidan Piper's background in neurobiology and microscope methods, as well as his senior thesis in novel methods of data visualization, are what led him to cofound Bishop Visual with James and Griffin. Now as Chief Science Officer, Aidan oversees R&D of Bishop's future technologies.
